Kris Lopez completed a Masters of Social Work degree at Simons University. She currently holds an SWC license and is working towards an LCSW. Kris started out in the field almost ten years ago working with adolescents at a residential/day school program where the importance of strengths based interventions and supports became the emphasis for continuing work and education in Clinical Social Work. She has worked with adult clients in substance use treatment programs, family units in the child welfare system, and served clients in community settings of small villages while living in Eastern Europe. Kris looks forward to engaging with individuals, families, and groups while serving the populations at Newlon Elementary and Denver Jewish Day School. She believes that human connection is the basis for developing a trusting rapport. Kris is an advocate for children, youth, and adults from all backgrounds and walks of life to have opportunities for safe space, personal growth, and support during times of stability as well as change.
