Daniel Coccia is a school-based counselor at Montclair School of Academics and Enrichment. Daniel is completing an internship with Centus’s School Counseling Program and is soon going to receive his MSW from The University of Denver. Daniel has been working with kids in the field of mental health since high school. Once his internship is completed, he is aiming to become a Centus Resident and obtain his LCSW. He has served as a summer camp counselor, a psychiatric technician, and a case manager.

 

Daniel is a firm believer in the power of giving one space to feel safe and respected, allowing them to be heard and understood in ways that bolster their self-confidence and self-respect. Utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy and psychoeducation, he aims to meet clients where they are and give them a new perspective on their challenges. Daniel often utilizes play therapy, mindfulness, and art therapy in his sessions.
