Claudia joined Centus in 2019, and she has an impressive background to put to work for Denver students. Originally from Guatemala, she completed her master’s training at Children’s Hospital in Boston – where she was deeply involved in hospital social work and child abuse & neglect work. She returned to Guatemala where she provided school counseling until she was named the director of the college counseling center at Universidad del Valle in Guatemala.
In 2012, she returned to the USA with her family. Since then, she has been a faculty member with the Physician Assistant program and has supervised programs for adolescents in rural areas of Guatemala through the support of the University of Colorado Center for Global Health.
Claudia currently works part time at Escuela de Guadalupe providing individual and group counseling to students and parents.
